Almost Crawling!

Catherine is almost crawling. She scoots backwards right now and rocks back and forth like she is going to crawl. It won't be long!

Catherine loves the telephone! (Just like Mommy!)

Welcome Baby Benjamin!

We gave Daniel and Christy a small baby shower on Saturday, March 24 to welcome their new baby into our family. They picked up Baby Benjamin on Monday, March 26! We can't wait to meet him! Here is the cake I made for the shower. It is an "Aunt Wynelle" cake, for those of you who are familiar!

Grammy keeps Babies R Us in business!!! What sweet gifts for a sweet baby!

Catherine's Sippy Cup

Catherine enjoys playing with her sippy cup -- note that I said "play!" She hasn't quite gotten the idea of drinking out of it. She will drink out of a regular cup, but she hasn't figured out how to get the drink out of the sippy cup.

Go Preds!

Aaron's brother Andrew called us up on Saturday to say he had some Predators hockey tickets that he wasn't going to use. So we decided to take him up on the free ticket offer! We packed up (because we decided to go ahead and spend the night since it was a 7pm game) and headed to Nashville. About an hour into our trip, poor little Catherine threw up --and not just a little -- all over herself and her new covertible car seat! She was fine, though. I think she had just eaten too much before we left and then maybe she was strapped in a little too tight. She never ran a fever or had any other symptoms or fussiness. So, on we continued to the game. Catherine did great the whole time. It was quite loud in arena, but she didn't complain. We sat down on the ground level for the first few minutes and then moved up to our real seats so that we could get a wider view of the game. :) On our way to the Davis home in M.J. after the game, Catherine immediately fell asleep, which was good since we got stuck in traffic on I-40 for an hour! Once we got home, I fed her and then she went to sleep and didn't get up until 9am!!! But then, when Aunt Ashley got her up that morning, we discovered that she had leaked through her diaper! I was running out of clean clothes for her quick! I was already down to my spare, spare outfit! Luckily, we didn't have any more messy moments! It was quite an interesting 24 hours for us -- but definitely a fun, memorable 24 hours!

Here's Catherine showing off her new Predators bike helmet that we got at the game. They gave them away to the first 4000 fans 12 and under! Doesn't it look great on her?! :) hee hee!!

Babysitting Catherine!

Our friends Neal & Alyson babysat Catherine on Friday night while Aaron and I went out to eat and to see the movie "Amazing Grace."

Neal had actually approached Aaron at work to ask if they could babysit sometime to get some extra baby experience. Who could say no to that?!

Of course, by these pictures, I think it is obvious they are great with Catherine! She had a great time with them! Thanks Neal & Alyson!

The Tradition Continues!

While Will, Alex, and Sophie were over at our house for the sleep-over, we made a pizza for supper, following in the tradition of the Davis brothers'.

We even added our own special spices to the pizza.

Notice the cabbage patch kid assisting Alex. :)

The pizza tasted delicious! Even Sophie enjoyed it!

Playing with Cousins!

Will, Alex and Sophie came over last Friday night for a sleep over! The kids (including Aaron) had lots of fun playing outside on the swing set!

Catherine is enjoying her new outdoor swing!

Even Easier Baby Food!

An even easier way to make baby food is to use canned veggies or fruits like green beans, peas, peaches or, as I am showing here, pears!

It's so easy! Just open the can, drain the fruit or veggie, puree and ta-da! Even easier baby food!!!

Here's Aaron tasting the baby food! :) He likes it - even if it is a little bland!

Making Baby Food!

I had decided to try to make Catherine's baby food. I thought it would be a very difficult thing to do. So, in January, I put it on my list of "to do's" to accomplish. Little did I know, it would be so very easy! All you have to do is boil the frozen veggies until soft,

chop or puree them in the blender,

pour them into little jars,

and ta-da -- Baby Food!!!

From my sweet husband!

Aaron brought these to me last Monday night when we met to go out to eat. He is such a great husband -- always praising me and telling me I should take more time to scrapbook! I just love him so very much! Thanks, Aaron! I love you!

You're so Vain. You probably think this Blog is about you! You're so vain!

I often accuse Catherine of being vain.
She LOVES to look at herself in the mirror.
Here, she is looking at herself in the mirror on her "Betty Butterfly" rocker.

Not only does she like to look at herself, she tries to kiss herself!

Still trying to see herself . . . .
Of course, with such an adorable face, can you blame her?! :)

Movin' on Down

We lowered Catherine's mattress on Sunday, March 4. She proved to us the day before that from a sitting position, she could pull herself to standing. So, we decided it was time to move the mattress down. Catherine handed Daddy the tools, or maybe she was trying to get the tools. Hmmmm.....

"Hello down there!"

"Look at what a big girl I am!"

Deep Thoughts (ha ha!)

This morning as I was getting ready to feed Catherine, a "deep thought" came to me. (We can all laugh together now as I'm sure it is really not a deep thought, but just something that really touched my heart.) Catherine was sitting on my lap and as I was preparing to feed her, she started crying and whining and acting all frantic as though food was never going to come. I said to her, "Catherine, I am going to feed you." I do this often with her, as it seems at almost every feeding time we go through this ritual. I wish she could just understand that I am going to take care of her. I am never going to let her starve.

And that was when it hit me.

How often do I worry or fret over and over again over something, as though the Lord is not going to take care of me? And He probably looks down at me and says, "Johnna, I am always going to take care of you. How many times a day do I have to tell you that until you understand?"

Catherine is such a blessing to me -- and one of the biggest ways that she is a blessing is how the Lord uses her life to teach me more about Himself. Lord, thank you for always taking care of me, even when I start acting frantic!

Catherine's Best Friend

Meet Bedtime Bear. He is Catheirne's best friend. She absolutely LOVES this bear! Santa brought him to her for Christmas this year. It is the same bear that I, Johnna, had as a child. Catherine will just talk and talk to this sweet bear!

She loves it when "Bear," as we call him, plays peek-a-boo!

Sometimes she picks him up and puts him over her head . . .

And then body slams him to the ground!

Don't you want to be Catherine's best friend? :) Hee hee!

No matter what, Bear still loves Catherine!
