Walking & Pretend Food (August 2007)

Catherine walks pretty much full-time now. She has just started letting us hold her hand while she walks. Here she and I took a little stroll through the house hand-in-hand.

Grammy gave us some kitchen toys to play with. Catherine sat and played with her new kitchenware for a long time. She woud transfer the pretend food from one container to the next and then back again. It is so funny what she thinks to do with her toys. She is so cute!!

Catherine enjoyed feeding Daddy pretend food. Daddy was really hungry! :)

Beautiful Hands & Feet (August 12, 2007)

Mommy prepares Catherine's hand with the pink ink to make a hand print! (We also did footprints, but we don't have any pics of that.)

Aunt Ashley is assisting. When she came down for a visit in October, we made handprints, too!

Hanging out with cousins (August 9)

Aaron reads to Sophie, Catherine and Alex all about football before the NFL preseason game comes on. We try to train the girls in football knowlege early. :)

Catherine and I went to scrapbook at Mela's for the afternoon. Catherine and Sophie love each other very much. Here they are giving a big hug . . .

. . . and then falling over. Good thing Melanie was there to catch them. They are very powerful huggers. Beware!

Catherine's long hair!

When my sisters and I were younger we used to put shirts on our heads and pretend it was long hair. I guess that must be a natural thing to do if you don't have much hair. Catherine is constantly putting things on her head. She picked up this pair of pants and kept trying to put it on her head. Finally, I assisted her. She was so happy to have them on her head! She crawled all over the house with them on!

She decided later to get a "hair cut." hee hee!!!

Bathtub fun! (August 2007)

If you can't grow hair, Catherine, just pretend you have some with your bubbles! hee hee!

Catherine likes to put these inflatable little rings (that actually came with her baby pool) and put them around her neck, arms and of course, on her head (right now, everything goes on her head!)

August Fun

Catherine still loves sitting in her little seat. Here she is sitting beside Daddy as he plays football (video game).

The Sippy Cup War!
Well, Catherine will now take a sippy cup. She fought it and fought it, but finally gave in - Praise the Lord! I was about to go crazy. Thank heavens for my wonderful husband who can remain strong when your baby is screaming and crying!

Catherine has learned to give kisses. But she will let you know if you can have one or not. Sometimes she shakes her head no if you ask for one.

Of course, more than giving kisses, Catherine loves receiving kisses - especially from her wonderful Daddy!

Walking on Sunshine (August 4)

Catherine officially walked on Wed., July 25 while we were in Texas. I really didn't want her to start walking until after we were home so that Aaron could enjoy the moment, but she just couldn't wait. After I finally admitted to myself that she was walking, she stopped. After that Wednesday, she really didn't walk again (at least not many steps in a row) until this week. Here she is showing off how cute she is walking. Of course, in a still picture it is hard to capture someone walking.

She still falls down a lot and only makes about 7-10 steps at a time. But she is definitely improving each day. Pretty soon she'll be running circles around me!!!!

Sitting Pretty

In Texas, Catherine really enjoyed sitting in Austin's little seat. It was just perfect for her size. I think she felt like a big girl when she sat in it. When we got home, our travel booster seat was out in the floor and she started to climb on it. The thought occured to me that she might enjoy just sitting in the seat. So, I sat it up in the living room, and sure enough Catherine loved it!

Thirty minutes later, she was still loving it and was trying to convince her baby to love it too! Now whenver she goes into the living room, she goes to her seat to hang out. It's so cute how proud she is of her little seat!

Yup, more laundry! (August 1)

Catherine is REALLY into putting things on her head. She constantly keeps me laughing at what all she finds to try on.
