Little Miss Dress Up! (Sept. 2007)

Catherine is really into playing dress up. She is especially interested in shoes. Here she is in Daddy's shoes.

And of course, Mommy's shoes.

One afternoon in the kitchen, she worked for about 10 minutes trying to get on these pajamas. She finally gave up.

Caught you! We found Catherine one evening IN her drawer pulling out clothes. We firmly said not to do that again (as we snapped pictures and tried not to laugh!). :)

Perfect Playmates (September 11, 2007)

Sophie came over for a quick visit while Melanie ran some errands. Catherine was so excited to see Sophie that she almost knocked her over with her hugs and kisses. The girls really enjoy seeing each other. Sophie will even say she wants to come see Catherine (or, as she calls her "Taz!")

The girls gave lots of hugs and kisses to each other throughout the morning. Can you see how tall Sophie is? She is getting so tall!

Catherine loves to share her toys --- until you try to touch them. :) hee hee!

Look what you can do! (September 5-6, 2007)

Catherine is 14 months old now. She is growing so fast and can do so many new things now! She just recently discovered her ears. She can find them when asked (well, most times). She also has found her belly button!

Crawling is a thing of the past. She's really improved her walking skills, though she still trips up and falls down hundreds of times a day!

Catherine likes to play peek-a-boo with her hands! "There she is!"

Whoaaa, Catherine! Thankfully, your feet aren't that big yet! Catherine found Mommy's shoes and decided to try them out!

Toy-Box (August 28, 2007)

This is truly a toy-box. After I emptied this box of diapers, Catherine decided to play in and with the box. Who needs boring old toys when you've got a cardboard box?!

Catherine fit so tightly in the box, the only way she could get out was to fall over and then crawl out.

Anyone want a ride?

Stars Baseball Game! (August 2007)

Aaron got free tickets to a Stars Baseball game, so we headed out to the sweltering heat to enjoy some family time.
Catherine was given 2 baseballs. Daddy was really excited! :)

Catherine didn't like the mascot close up. She would point to him and say 'please' (sign language), but when we got close, she wanted nothing to do with him.

Catherine much preferred the mascot on his 4-wheeler zooming by! :)

Bad Parenting Skills? (August 2007)

Like I said in the previous post, Catherine loves playing with her dolls. She likes to imitate me feeding the baby, hugging and kissing the baby. I don't know where she picked up these habits--I've never stood on Catherine!

I can honestly say we've NEVER sat on Catherine's head. :)

No, sadly she is not giving the baby CPR (chest compressions); she is just putting all of her weight on the baby's chest. Once again, we've never done that to Catherine! :)

Smothering the baby? Oh, goodness, I've got some retraining to do! :) hee hee!!!

Happy Girl (August 2007)

Catherine is such a happy baby. She loves to play with her toys, especially her baby dolls!

Walking & Pretend Food (August 2007)

Catherine walks pretty much full-time now. She has just started letting us hold her hand while she walks. Here she and I took a little stroll through the house hand-in-hand.

Grammy gave us some kitchen toys to play with. Catherine sat and played with her new kitchenware for a long time. She woud transfer the pretend food from one container to the next and then back again. It is so funny what she thinks to do with her toys. She is so cute!!

Catherine enjoyed feeding Daddy pretend food. Daddy was really hungry! :)

Beautiful Hands & Feet (August 12, 2007)

Mommy prepares Catherine's hand with the pink ink to make a hand print! (We also did footprints, but we don't have any pics of that.)

Aunt Ashley is assisting. When she came down for a visit in October, we made handprints, too!

Hanging out with cousins (August 9)

Aaron reads to Sophie, Catherine and Alex all about football before the NFL preseason game comes on. We try to train the girls in football knowlege early. :)

Catherine and I went to scrapbook at Mela's for the afternoon. Catherine and Sophie love each other very much. Here they are giving a big hug . . .

. . . and then falling over. Good thing Melanie was there to catch them. They are very powerful huggers. Beware!

Catherine loves looking at books right now. She sat still for just a few seconds for me to snap this picture of Aunt Mela reading to her.

Catherine's long hair!

When my sisters and I were younger we used to put shirts on our heads and pretend it was long hair. I guess that must be a natural thing to do if you don't have much hair. Catherine is constantly putting things on her head. She picked up this pair of pants and kept trying to put it on her head. Finally, I assisted her. She was so happy to have them on her head! She crawled all over the house with them on!

She decided later to get a "hair cut." hee hee!!!
