Our weekend in Kentucky began with a cookout at Al & Jen's house topped off with a mini-birthday party for all the kids. The kids enjoyed us singing "Happy Birthday" to them and blowing out the candles. We did this since we all weren't able to be at each of the kids' birthday parties.

John David had a hard time blowing out his candle, but he was determined and eventually successful!
Catherine blew out her candle before we sang the song. We lit it again and told her not to blow it out yet. Evidently that scared her so she wouldn't blow it out at all. Oh, well. She did enjoy the cake, though, that's for sure!
